Ben had returned home from Afghanistan in November from his tour of duty.
We used the mini white, red and black calla lilies in the bouquets, keeping in
mind the Marine Corp colors. We used the large white callas in the centerpieces
which were glass heart shaped vases on a mirrored tray with heart shaped red tea lights.
In the vases were iridescent glass stones, red heart shaped glass stones, pearl white
and black stones. All of the flowers were delivered 4 days prior to the wedding.
We kept them in the garage with a electric heater keeping them at the right temp and
changing the water each day. They were absolutely beautiful. They were as fresh the
day of the wedding as they were when we received them. We used white mini's for
the father boutineers. My friend and her daughter made the bouquets using red and
black ribbon french braided up along the stems. The bides bouquet had heart shaped
wires with rhinestones in amongst the flowers.We had 2 Marines with the large white
callas standing at the door into the ceremony handing each female a calla lily.
Even with the ice and snow storm the bride, wedding and the flowers were beautiful.
